Fragments of Chaos
I am interested in fragments, memory, collecting bits and pieces, archiving images and events, as well as the unexpected.
I long for fragments of the past, as well as a need to survive in the present and strive for a future. The idea of conformity bothers me; the idea of the unconventional excites me. Life contradictions create my chaos. My imagery tends to be based on preserving fragments, elements of memories, layers and chaos merged. Printmaking techniques and painting mediums meet rust, indigo, tannic acid and graphite, which create layers, depth and tone on paper and fabric. Sometimes found/collected elements are sewn in or they are left to resist the mineral dyes and then removed leaving a trace and residue.
